UNICEF Hiring Consultant for Social & Community Listening (SCL) – I Hear U Platform Support

UNICEF is offering an exciting consultancy opportunity for professionals experienced in digital listening, behavioral insights, and community engagement. The organization is seeking a consultant to help strengthen and scale the use of the I Hear U Social and Community Listening (SCL) platform, an essential tool used across global, regional, and country-level offices to gather meaningful insights from communities.

This full-time assignment, based in Nairobi, focuses on enhancing how UNICEF teams interpret, integrate, and act on real-time community feedback. The consultant will support offices subscribing to the platform by offering tailored onboarding, troubleshooting technical challenges, and ensuring smooth deployment of I Hear U in ongoing programs.

A key part of the role includes quality assurance of analytical products, such as dashboards and reports that transform listening data into strategic recommendations. The consultant will play a central role in ensuring insights are accurate, timely, and relevant to country and regional needs.

UNICEF is also emphasizing capacity building. The selected candidate will create user-friendly training materials, lead webinars, and provide continuous support to help teams integrate SCL insights into program design, communication strategies, and emergency response planning.

In addition, the consultant will collaborate with technical vendors to refine and enhance the platform based on user feedback. Documenting success stories, use cases, and lessons learned will help promote I Hear U as a scalable solution for evidence generation and community accountability.

Candidates should hold a Master’s degree in fields such as social and behavioral sciences, public health, communication, sociology, anthropology, psychology, media studies, or international development. At least five years of relevant experience in SBC, community listening, digital monitoring, or social media analytics is required.

Applicants must also demonstrate professional experience using listening tools such as Talkwalker, Meltwater, Brandwatch, or Sprinklr, particularly in monitoring misinformation, analyzing digital sentiment, and managing community feedback.

Qualified individuals can apply through the UNICEF career portal at jobs.unicef.org.
