If you’re passionate about making a difference in people’s lives and have a heart for humanitarian work, HIAS Refugee Trust of Kenya is offering a meaningful opportunity you won’t want to miss. The organization is currently seeking a Temporary Nurse Aid to join its dedicated healthcare team in Nairobi.
The Nurse Aid will play a vital role in providing day-to-day medical and emotional support to patients—many of whom are refugees in need of compassionate care. This position involves assisting with daily living activities, monitoring patients’ vital signs, and ensuring each individual receives holistic, dignified treatment.
What You’ll Be Doing
Your day will be filled with tasks that truly matter—responding to medical emergencies, taking vital signs, facilitating hospital appointments, and maintaining proper medical documentation. You’ll also help monitor patients’ health progress and coordinate with housekeeping and kitchen teams to maintain proper hygiene and nutrition standards for residents.
Beyond the clinical aspect, your emotional support will make a real impact. Whether it’s comforting a worried patient or helping a family through difficult times, your role will embody the compassion that HIAS stands for.
What You’ll Need
To qualify, you should have certification as a Nursing Assistant or Nurse Aid and at least 2 years of relevant experience. Previous work with humanitarian or refugee organizations is a major plus. You’ll also need a patient-centered approach, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality in sensitive situations.
If you’re ready to contribute to a mission-driven organization that values dignity, compassion, and service, this role could be your calling.
