About the role:
Influx is looking for a tech-savvy, eager-to-learn individual in Kenya to join our team as a Technical Support Specialist at Influx. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in high-responsibility environments, can work independently, and has hands-on experience with Windows-based infrastructure and cloud environments.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Providing advanced technical support to clients via voice, email, live chat, and ticket systems;
- Troubleshooting and executing IIS restarts and web application recovery;
- Managing and maintaining virtual machines (VMs) in cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure;
- Restarting and managing Windows Services remotely;
- Operating autonomously with minimal supervision while maintaining high-quality support delivery.
This role requires a strong combination of technical expertise, critical thinking, and clear communication. You should be able to troubleshoot under pressure, explain solutions to non-technical users, and resolve issues confidently via voice.
What we’re looking for:
- Outstanding fluency in English with high level of confidence to communicate with native English speakers.
- Proficiency in both Windows and Linux operating systems
- Experience troubleshooting IIS, Windows Services, and VM environments with ability to debug application crashes, registry errors, and permission issues.
- Proficiency in reading and analyzing system or application logs to diagnose problems.
- Organized, with strong communication skills, able to effectively share information with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with basic understanding of computer systems, mobile devices, and common troubleshooting methods.
- Willingness to learn and develop skills in technical support and remote device management.
- Working hours: 44 hours per week.
- Coverage hours: 2 pm – 10 pm EAT
Desirable skills (not required):
- An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields is preferred: Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Administration, Cybersecurity
- Familiarity with Windows Server and cloud-based systems (Azure, AWS, GCP)
- Experience troubleshooting boot errors, user profile corruption, and system crashes.
- Familiarity with PowerShell, Bash, or Python is a significant advantage.
