To drive this transformation, the company is seeking a Technical Head — a seasoned professional who can lead all technical operations, ensure compliance, and deliver efficient, scalable energy solutions.
Role Overview
The Technical Head will oversee all aspects of SUN Mobility’s battery-swapping infrastructure, from site selection and feasibility studies to the management of field teams and maintenance programs. This position combines engineering excellence with strong leadership and operational oversight.
Key Responsibilities

Supervise station deployments, site surveys, and contractor coordination.

Manage logistics for importing batteries and equipment into Kenya.

Lead the commissioning and maintenance of swap stations to ensure uptime.

Build and mentor a technical team of engineers and field technicians.

Oversee asset tracking, inventory management, and safety compliance.

Develop preventive maintenance programs for optimal system reliability.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams across business and logistics units.

Present regular performance reports and operational insights to leadership.
Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred).

10–12 years of experience in the EV, automotive, or renewable energy sector.

Proven track record in project execution, technical team management, and maintenance systems.

Strong understanding of logistics, warehousing, and compliance standards.

Experience in startups or EV infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
