About the Role
As a Senior Linux Engineer, you will design, deploy, and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems across development, testing, and production environments. You will play a vital role in enhancing Absa’s digital ecosystem by implementing automation, optimizing performance, and ensuring robust system security.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and optimize Linux servers across multiple environments.

Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Ansible, Terraform, or Puppet.

Collaborate with DevOps and Cloud teams to enhance CI/CD pipelines.

Proactively monitor performance and troubleshoot system issues.

Automate deployments to improve scalability and efficiency.

Implement robust security practices to ensure compliance with global standards.

Participate in incident management and on-call support rotations.
Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

5+ years of experience managing Linux systems (preferably RHEL).

Strong automation skills using Ansible, Terraform, or Red Hat Satellite.

Proficiency in Bash, Python, or Perl scripting.

Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitLab CI.

Working knowledge of VMware, KVM, and containerization tools like Docker or Podman.

Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Nagios, Grafana, or Prometheus.

Understanding of networking concepts, cloud environments, and security frameworks.
