SBM Bank is seeking a dedicated Assistant Manager in Custodial Services to join its Nairobi team. This full-time role is ideal for experienced professionals with a passion for operational excellence, client service, and strategic leadership in banking operations.

Role Overview
The Assistant Manager, Custodial Services, is responsible for supervising custodial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and client satisfaction. You will lead a team, manage bond trading and treasury back-office operations, and drive continuous improvement to optimize productivity and service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management (30%)

  • Ensure 100% revenue collection for treasury and custodial products.

  • Process and settle treasury deals accurately to avoid operational losses.

  • Monitor budget adherence and prevent fraudulent transaction losses.

Operational Excellence (50%)

  • Oversee settlement of equity and fixed-income transactions.

  • Manage immobilization, registration of securities, and corporate actions processing.

  • Ensure timely client payments, billing, and invoicing.

  • Maintain message control mechanisms and secure communication.

  • Monitor and mitigate operational risks to achieve zero tolerance for errors.

Client Service Excellence (20%)

  • Ensure prompt resolution of client queries within SLA timelines.

  • Facilitate client visits and due diligence with professionalism.

  • Maintain high-quality reporting, reconciliation, and trade documentation.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field.

  • 5–7 years of operations experience in treasury, custodial services, or pension fund management.

  • CISI certificate or equivalent in securities services is preferred.

  • Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
