🔍 What the Role Involves
The Configuration Analyst will work at the center of M-Pesa service configuration and financial crime monitoring. The role focuses heavily on the analysis, setup, and testing of configuration changes across Safaricom’s mobile money platform and its Anti-Money Laundering (AML) systems.
Key Duties Include:
📝 Requirement Analysis

Understand business requirements for new M-Pesa services

Interpret AML control needs and translate them into functional configurations

Document requirements clearly for future reference
🛠 Configuration Management

Configure features and controls on the mobile money platform

Ensure solutions match functional and compliance requirements
🛡 AML System Configuration

Set up workflows, alerts, parameters, and reporting schedules on the Siron AML platform

Conduct thorough testing to ensure accuracy and performance
🔍 Watchlist & Filtering Checks

Perform watchlist screening effectiveness tests using SWIFT tools

Maintain and update filtering rules to ensure accurate screening
📘 Documentation & Knowledge Sharing

Keep detailed records of configuration changes

Share insights and technical knowledge with local market teams
🔧 Troubleshooting & Testing

Support functional acceptance testing

Configure and troubleshoot issues across multiple markets

Minimize disruptions to mobile money operations

Review RFIs and change requests from market teams

Provide viable recommendations and well-documented solutions

Collaborate with Agile Release Trains on M-Pesa and AML dependencies
🎓 Desired Qualifications & Skills
Technical Requirements

Basic understanding of mobile payment systems

Strong understanding of AML systems—especially the Siron platform

Familiarity with FinTech 2.0 / G2 systems

Experience configuring monitoring and mobile money systems

Ability to document processes clearly and thoroughly
Professional Skills
