Role Overview:
As Research Manager at Safaricom PLC, you’ll play a critical role in understanding market dynamics and customer behaviour, turning raw data into actionable insights that inform everything from product design to marketing strategy. You’ll be working in a dynamic, fast-moving telecom environment, where your findings will directly influence major business decisions.
Key Responsibilities (H3):

Design and execute quantitative and qualitative research studies end-to-end.

Analyse data, translate findings into clear business recommendations, and present to senior stakeholders.

Manage budgets and relationships with external research agencies or vendors.

Maintain and update a repository of market and consumer research assets.

Lead consumer segmentation and attitudinal studies to guide targeting and product positioning.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, marketing, analytics) to ensure insights drive action.
Qualifications & Experience (H3):

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Economics, Statistics, Social Science or related field (Master’s preferred).

4-7 years of experience in market research, consumer insights or analytics roles.

Proficiency with survey design, statistical analysis and tools such as SPSS, R, Python or equivalent.

Excellent communication skills and ability to influence stakeholders.

Proven track record of turning research findings into business results.
Preferred Skills or Certifications (H3):

Experience in telecommunications, fintech or mobile commerce.

Familiarity with multi-country research projects across East Africa.

Certification in market research or data analytics (e.g., Esomar, Insights Association) an advantage.
