This full-time position is based in Nairobi and focuses on ensuring that all Safaricom systems, products, and services meet the highest security standards.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Cyber Secure by Design, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in safeguarding Safaricom’s infrastructure and supporting DevSecOps initiatives across the organization.
Your Mission at Safaricom
In this role, you’ll work to make security a built-in part of every system and product. You’ll review and test projects before launch, manage Safaricom’s Bug Bounty Program, and perform penetration testing and red teaming exercises to identify vulnerabilities before they become threats.
You’ll also:

Conduct pre-launch security reviews for all new projects.

Ensure remediation of high and medium-risk vulnerabilities before go-live.

Manage bug bounty reports and ensure issues are resolved within strict SLAs.

Participate in penetration testing and report findings to system custodians.

Collaborate with development teams to embed security tools into CI/CD pipelines.

What You’ll Bring
To qualify, you should have:

A degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or related field.

Professional certifications such as CEH, CISSP, CISM, OSCP, or GIAC.

At least 5 years of experience in cybersecurity, ethical hacking, or penetration testing.

Strong knowledge of networking, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), and DevSecOps tools like Jenkins, GitHub, and Jira.

Excellent analytical, reporting, and communication skills.
