The NBA Africa and Basketball Africa League (BAL) are looking for a talented Future Pro Graphic & Motion Designer to help shape the visual identity of one of the fastest-growing sports brands on the continent. Based in Nairobi, this full-time role offers a rare opportunity to create exciting visual content seen by millions across Africa and worldwide.
This position is perfect for a passionate designer who combines creativity, technical skill, and a strong understanding of visual storytelling in both static and motion formats. What You’ll Be Doing
Creative & Visual Development
You will design a wide range of marketing and branding materials for campaigns, events, merchandise, digital platforms, newsletters, presentations, and internal communications. You’ll also adapt global NBA and BAL brand templates for African audiences while keeping all visuals aligned with brand standards.
Motion Graphics & Animation
From short-form animations to social media intros, transitions, and lower thirds, you’ll bring BAL stories to life through motion. Your work will support both video and digital teams, elevating fan engagement through dynamic visual content.
Campaign & Brand Execution
The role involves close collaboration with the brand marketing, advertising, and creative strategy teams. You will help conceptualize campaign ideas and ensure every asset—static or animated—meets BAL and NBAA brand guidelines.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
You will work with digital, social media, events, and fan experience teams to create assets for grassroots programs, influencer campaigns, arena branding, and regional activations. You will also manage a well-organized creative library and track delivery timelines.
Skills & Experience Needed

2–3 years of experience in graphic and motion design, preferably in sports, entertainment, or creative industries

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), After Effects, Figma, and Canva

Understanding of motion design principles, typography, and strong visual hierarchy

Ability to interpret marketing strategies into design concepts

Experience collaborating across departments and agencies

Working knowledge of basketball in Africa is a bonus

Fluency in English required; French or Arabic adds an advantage

A strong digital portfolio showcasing both static and motion design work
Educational background in graphic design, multimedia arts, or related fields is required.
