Mastercard Foundation is seeking a passionate and visionary leader to take on the role of Lead, Transformative Leadership & Give Back, based in Nairobi. This is a full-time opportunity to influence how the Foundation empowers young leaders across Africa through transformative leadership and lifelong learning.
About the Role
In this position, you’ll design and implement strategies that strengthen the transformative leadership journey of Mastercard Foundation Scholars and alumni. You’ll lead programs that promote personal growth, community impact, and inclusive leadership across the continent.
Working with global and African partners, you’ll ensure the Scholars Program remains at the forefront of leadership innovation — helping young people unlock their full potential and give back to their communities.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and oversee transformative leadership strategies and programs (both online and in-person).

Collaborate with Scholars Program partners to build impactful leadership experiences.

Establish performance metrics and frameworks to measure program success.

Lead partnerships that expand learning and development opportunities for youth.

Ensure inclusivity for women, refugees, and people with disabilities in all leadership initiatives.

Manage Baobab Platform and Baobab Summit as hubs for learning, connection, and thought leadership.

Mentor teams, champion safeguarding, and promote a collaborative culture aligned with the Foundation’s values.
Who You Are

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, International Development, Public Policy, or a related field.

Over 12 years of experience, including 3+ years in a leadership or supervisory role.

Proven expertise in designing youth-focused leadership programs.

Strong experience working across Africa and in multicultural environments.

Strategic thinker with a passion for innovation, inclusion, and impact.
