Join Our Team as a Lathe Operator.
We’re looking for a skilled and safety-conscious Lathe Operator at Kenya Builders & Concrete Co. Ltd to machine high-quality parts that power our operations. In this hands-on role, you’ll transform raw materials into precise components while upholding the highest standards in quality, maintenance, and workplace safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate lathe machines to perform turning, boring, tapering, threading, and facing.
- Read and interpret blueprints to ensure accurate part fabrication.
- Ensure correct material dimensions before machining.
- Perform precision machining operations including drilling, grinding, reaming, and tapping.
- Conduct quality control checks and remanufacture parts as needed.
- Carry out preventive maintenance on machines and tools.
- Adhere to safety procedures and consistently use proper PPE.
- Maintain a clean, efficient, and hazard-free working environment.
Key Outputs/Deliverables:
- Quality finishes with minimal defects or returns.
- High client satisfaction with zero complaints.
- Safe operations with zero accidents or safety breaches.
Qualifications & Experience:
- High School Certificate and Grade Trade Certificate (mandatory).
- Diploma in Engineering (desirable).
- Basic knowledge of metals and plastics.
- At least 1 year of hands-on experience with lathes, calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Ability to read technical drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining industrial lathes.
- Strong commitment to quality, safety, and efficiency.
- Adaptability and teamwork in a production environment.
