Human Resource Officer

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Conducting institutional staff needs assessment and development of annual training calendar.
  • Facilitate accurate and timely processing of staff payroll and other employment benefits administration.
  • Advise on employee safety, welfare and wellness.
  • Conduct staff recruitment process, staff orientation and develop retention programs.
  • Developing HR policies, performance appraisals, leave management and overall supervision of office administration.
  • Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable Acts and statutory requirements.
  • Staffs leave management and planning.
  • Develop and update job descriptions for each staff position.
  • Develop optimal annual staffing plan and organization structure.
  • Fleet management.
  • Render common services to Sacco affiliates e.g. petty cash management, management expenses management.
  • Any other duty assigned by CEO from time to time.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Staff management.
  • Enterprise performance management.
  • Development and implementation of HR Strategy.
  • Statutory compliance.
  • Recruitment and selection.

Qualifications and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR or Bachelor’s degree in Business and higher diploma in HRM.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in carrying out Human Resource and administrative functions in a busy office.
  • Good knowledge of Labour Laws of Kenya.
  • Valid certificate of good conduct.

 Loans Officer

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Loan portfolio growth and management.
  • Registration of loan applications and loan details data entry in Core banking System.
  • Loan appraisal, security perfection and recommendation.
  • Collateral management i.e. registration and safe custody of collaterals.
  • Credit performance reporting i.e. generate monthly credit reports on disbursements and loans balances.
  • Defaulter management i.e. listing of defaulters with Credit Reference Bureau.
  • Filing and archiving of work documents.
  • Any other duty assigned by Credit Manager from time to time.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Quantity and quality of loan appraisals.
  • Credit procedures compliance.
  • Compliance to collateral management procedures.
  • Timeliness and accuracy of loan reporting.
  • Loan portfolio growth and quality.

Qualifications and experience

  • Bachelor degree in Cooperative Business or Management or Business-related field or Diploma in a business-related field in combination with 2 years qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of a Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience in credit administration or loan management in financial services sector.
  • Valid certificate of good conduct.

Skills and Attributes

  • Microsoft Excel and word proficiency,
  • User knowledge of Sacco’s ERP,
  • Good report writing skills,
  • Good sales pitching,
  • Client management skills.

Securities and Recoveries Officer

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Loan security assessment and documentation.
  • Generating defaulters list.
  • Follow-up of loan defaulters.
  • Contacting guarantors of members in arrears for more than 2 months.
  • Follow-up on commitments to pay loans in arrears.
  • Visit defaulters of more than 3 months.
  • Recover loan securities pledged.
  • Send letter to guarantors on recovery of shares.
  • Daily report of collections and submission on weekly basis.
  • Check on new loans issued.
  • Preparation of monthly reports on Portfolio at Risk and default listing.
  • Any other duty assigned by Credit Manager from time to time.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Loan portfolio growth.
  • Portfolio at Risk management.
  • Successful loan follow-ups.
  • Timely submission of requisite reports.

Qualifications and experience

  • Diploma in Co-operative Management/ banking/ finance or Credit Management.
  • A business related degree is an added advantage.
  • At least one-year experience in debt collection field.
  • Valid certificate of good conduct.

Skills and Attributes

  • Knowledge of excel spreadsheet and word document,
  • Knowledge of Sacco ERP,
  • Strong interpersonal and good communication skills,
  • Good negotiation skills for member management,
  • Teamwork player.
