Digital Media and Marketing Interns (2 Positions)
Introduction
As part of our strategic efforts to enhance visibility and digital engagement, ICS is seeking two (2) creative, dynamic, and self-driven Internship Opportunities at Institute of Certified Secretaries (ICS) to support our Marketing and Communication Department.
These interns will assist in developing visual and digital content, managing online platforms, and enhancing the Institute’s visibility through innovative digital storytelling.
The interns will be part of a
collaborative team and will contribute to the production, publishing, and archiving of creative multimedia content.
The internship offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a professional environment while contributing meaningfully to the Institute’s communication and outreach efforts.

Position Summary
The Internship Opportunities at Institute of Certified Secretaries (ICS) will play a dual role in supporting the Institute’s efforts in enhancing brand visibility, stakeholder engagement and digital communication.
Working under the Marketing and Communication Department, the interns will collaboratively deliver high-quality visual content including posters, videos, and photography while also managing the Institute’s digital and social media presence.
This role requires individuals with creative, technical and communication skills to produce digital adverts, design marketing assets, create event highlights and curate content across various platforms. The interns must be enthusiastic, self-driven and aligned to professional excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Under the guidance of the Communications and Marketing team, the interns will:
- Design posters, flyers, banners and other graphic materials for both print and digital use.
- Capture, edit and organize photos and videos from Institute events and trainings, including supporting live-streaming or video coverage of key events as required.
- Produce short video clips, reels and promotional content for campaigns and online publishing
- Assist in planning and executing digital marketing strategies
- Assist in managing and updating the Institute’s social media platforms with engaging content
- Monitor digital campaign analytics (engagement, reach, impressions, etc.) and prepare
summary reports - Assist in ensuring brand consistency across all digital communication materials
- Maintain an organized digital archive/library of all photo and video content.
- Develop creative concepts, contribute to brainstorming sessions, and assist in creating
storyboards for visual storytelling, campaign messaging, and content innovation. - Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Eligibility Criteria
- Diploma or Degree in Graphic Design, Film & Media Studies, Photography, Communication, Marketing, Digital Media, or a related field from a recognized institution.
- Must be a Kenyan citizen aged 30 years or below.
- Must be available for a full-time internship for a period of six (6) months.
- Portfolio of past work (designs, photography, videography or digital content) is mandatory.
Desired Skills and Competencies
- Proficiency in photo and video editing software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere
Pro, After Effects, Illustrator, Canva, etc). - Practical experience in photography and videography, including use of DSLR cameras.
- Knowledge of graphic design and ability to produce visually compelling content.
- Familiarity with social media platforms and content management tools (e.g., Meta Business
Suite, Buffer, Hootsuite). - Basic understanding of digital marketing metrics and content analytics.
- Strong visual storytelling skills, creativity and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication, organization and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively, manage multiple tasks and meet tight
deadlines.
