Serena Hotels is seeking a skilled and experienced Information Security Officer to join its ICT team in Nairobi. This is a full-time opportunity for a cybersecurity professional who is passionate about safeguarding digital systems, networks, and data in a dynamic hospitality environment.
As the Information Security Officer, you will play a critical role in shaping and implementing the organization’s information security strategy. Your responsibilities will include conducting security audits, monitoring vulnerabilities, managing security incidents, and ensuring that Serena Hotels stays ahead of emerging cyber threats. You will also be responsible for overseeing the daily execution of IT security measures across networks, servers, and workstations.
A key part of this role involves reviewing and enforcing IT security policies, standards, and procedures while continuously improving existing systems. You will collaborate closely with site IT teams to ensure compliance with ICT policies, support disaster recovery and business continuity planning, and oversee investigations into reported security breaches.
The ideal candidate should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, along with professional certifications such as CISM or CISSP. Candidates with at least 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar information security role will be highly preferred. Strong communication skills, leadership ability, and hands-on experience with network security tools, intrusion detection systems, and ISO 27000 standards are essential.
