The Karen Hospital, a premier healthcare institution in Nairobi, is seeking an experienced ICT Manager to lead its technology strategy and digital transformation initiatives. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, this role will be central in aligning the hospital’s IT infrastructure with its mission of delivering quality and efficient patient care.
Role Overview
As the ICT Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that all hospital systems — including Electronic Medical Records (EMR), Hospital Information Systems (HIS), and billing platforms — operate securely, efficiently, and reliably. You will drive innovation while maintaining cost-effectiveness and compliance with data protection laws.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute an ICT strategy that supports clinical and administrative objectives.

Manage and optimize IT infrastructure across the hospital’s departments.

Oversee data, video, and voice network operations, ensuring system uptime and performance.

Lead digital transformation projects and implement emerging technologies for improved care delivery.

Establish cybersecurity frameworks in compliance with the Kenya Data Protection Act.

Supervise the IT support team to ensure timely technical assistance.

Manage IT budgets, vendor contracts, and software licenses effectively.

Train hospital staff on digital systems to enhance productivity and digital literacy.
Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

At least 7 years of IT management experience, with 2 years in healthcare.

Hands-on experience with EMR and HIS systems.

Strong understanding of cybersecurity, network architecture, and data recovery.

Proven leadership, communication, and project management skills.
