This role is focused on ensuring sustainable water access for communities in Turkana County through expert borehole site assessments.
About the Consultancy
The consultant will carry out detailed hydrogeological investigations across three proposed sites. The study will determine groundwater availability, quality, and sustainability, helping ADRA identify optimal borehole locations for long-term community benefit.
Key Responsibilities

Characterize the hydrogeological setting, including aquifer properties.

Assess groundwater levels, flow patterns, and recharge rates.

Conduct water quality tests (chemical and bacteriological).

Identify potential drilling sites and predict borehole yields.

Provide recommendations for sustainable groundwater management.

Analyze the impact of current and future water abstraction.
Candidate Requirements
To qualify, applicants must:

Be licensed and registered as a Hydrogeologist by relevant authorities (e.g., Ministry of Water, GSK).

Have strong expertise in geophysical instruments and groundwater studies.

Possess experience working with indigenous and marginalized communities.

Be capable of preparing detailed technical and financial proposals.

Have prior experience in hydrogeological assessments, preferably in Turkana.
