Human Resources Manager – HRBP Nursing Division at Aga Khan University Hospital

This role offers the opportunity to directly impact the delivery of patient care by ensuring a well-supported, compliant, and engaged nursing workforce. The HRBP will partner with nurse leaders, management, and frontline staff to implement HR strategies that align with the hospital’s mission of delivering world-class healthcare.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic HR Partnership: Align HR strategies with nursing workforce needs, including talent management, succession planning, and change management.

  • Performance Management: Drive goal setting, appraisals, and development plans to build high-performing teams.

  • Recruitment & Selection: Lead end-to-end hiring processes, ensuring the right talent is placed in nursing roles.

  • Employee Relations: Act as the main contact for HR issues, grievance management, and union negotiations.

  • Compensation & Benefits: Oversee benefits administration, salary adjustments, pension, and leave management.

  • Training & Development: Conduct training needs analysis, facilitate in-house training, and build succession pipelines.

  • Compliance & Policy: Ensure HR practices align with Kenyan labor laws, CBAs, and hospital standards.

  • People Management: Mentor HR staff while providing guidance to nursing leaders on workforce issues.

  • Reporting & Analytics: Deliver workforce insights and support budgeting decisions.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Master’s degree in HR or related field.

  • IHRM membership with valid practicing certification.

  • 5–8 years’ HR generalist experience, with at least 2–3 years as an HRBP.

  • Proven experience in unionized environments and CBA implementation.

  • Strong interpersonal, coaching, and conflict resolution skills.

  • Proficiency in HRIS and data-driven HR practices.

  • High emotional intelligence, resilience, and adaptability.
