Britam, a leading financial and insurance services provider in Kenya, is looking for a dedicated Counter Fraud Officer to strengthen its fraud prevention and investigation efforts. About the Role
The Counter Fraud Officer (Investigation Officer) will be responsible for conducting in-depth investigations into potential fraud cases across Britam’s operations. This includes evaluating fraud indicators, analyzing control weaknesses, and ensuring all investigative processes comply with company policies and national laws.
You’ll also play a proactive role in improving fraud detection systems, recommending stronger internal controls, and ensuring that identified issues are addressed promptly and effectively.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct detailed fraud investigations based on reports from internal audits, whistleblower channels, or customer escalations.

Assess fraud patterns and develop mitigation recommendations.

Prepare comprehensive reports and gather solid evidence to support findings.

Collaborate with law enforcement and regulatory bodies, such as the Insurance Regulatory Authority (IRA), to facilitate prosecution where necessary.

Maintain a structured database of all investigation cases using the organization’s case management system.

Identify control weaknesses during investigations and propose corrective measures.
Qualifications and Skills

A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.

1–2 years of experience in criminal or administrative investigations.

Excellent analytical, investigative, and report-writing skills.

Strong attention to detail and ability to assess complex information objectively.

Proficiency in using digital research tools and databases.
