Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH), Nairobi, is inviting qualified candidates to apply for the Coordinator, Eye Care Clinic position. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of all Eye Care Clinics, ensuring smooth workflows, quality service delivery, and alignment with the hospital’s mission of providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities

Lead, plan, and manage operations across multiple Eye Care Clinics.

Work closely with the COO and Operations team to identify challenges and implement effective solutions.

Manage clinic budgets, monitor expenses, and oversee procurement and maintenance of medical equipment.

Ensure all ophthalmic instruments, machines, and consumables are properly maintained and defects promptly reported.

Develop and implement Eye Care strategies and improvement plans to support long-term institutional goals.

Coordinate theatre schedules for surgeons and follow up on bookings.

Address patient concerns professionally to enhance satisfaction and loyalty.

Conduct quarterly performance evaluations and ensure compliance with operational policies.

Manage staffing needs, recruitment, onboarding, and performance assessments.

Work with the Finance Department to uphold strong internal controls.

Conduct market research to explore new growth opportunities within the eye care field.

Collaborate with the marketing team on campaigns and promotions for the clinic.

Prepare periodic operational reports and review Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Support the setup and rollout of new Eye Care Units.
Qualifications and Requirements

Diploma in Optometry or a Degree in Management, Business Administration, or Finance.

Minimum of five years’ experience in healthcare administration or clinical management.

Strong leadership and communication abilities.

Proven customer service excellence and the ability to handle patient relations effectively.
