A Role Centered on Governance Excellence
As part of the Corporate Governance team, the Associate will work closely with the Manager, Corporate Governance to ensure that all governance frameworks, practices, and standards are properly implemented across the bank’s subsidiary companies. This role is crucial in maintaining transparency, accountability, and regulatory alignment.
One of the core functions is providing board secretarial support, ensuring the smooth running of board and committee activities. This includes preparing documentation, maintaining records, and offering guidance on governance procedures.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:

Offer board and committee secretarial services to subsidiary boards

Support committee members with governance-related advice and documentation

Facilitate effective board and committee meetings through proper planning and record-keeping

Assist in ensuring adherence to legal, regulatory, and corporate governance standards

Help enforce compliance across relevant statutory frameworks

Contribute to strengthening governance structures across the organization

What You Need to Qualify
Applicants must have:

A First Degree in Law or a related legal field

Certification as a Certified Secretary (CS)

Membership in the Institute of Certified Secretaries (ICS)

Admission as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya

Practical knowledge of corporate governance frameworks
