Britam, one of Kenya’s leading financial and insurance providers, is looking for a passionate and experienced Assistant Claims Officer to join its growing team in Nairobi.
This role offers a unique opportunity to play a crucial part in managing policy cycles, ensuring clients receive high-quality and cost-effective care. As an Assistant Claims Officer, you’ll handle everything from claim vetting and case management to liaising with underwriters and healthcare providers to maintain efficiency and compliance.
What You’ll Do:

Oversee claim processing to ensure timely release to the finance department.

Review medical reports and evaluate compliance with Britam’s internal guidelines.

Manage policy parameters like initial authorized costs, claim reserves, and treatment durations.

Communicate with clients and service providers to uphold Britam’s care standards.

Encourage the use of generic medication where appropriate to reduce costs and ensure sustainability.

Generate periodic management reports to support decision-making and performance tracking.
Qualifications and Experience:
To excel in this role, you should have:

A Diploma or Degree in Nursing, Clinical Medicine, or Pharmacy.

At least 5–8 years of experience in claims management, with 2 years in a supervisory role.

A moderate understanding of insurance concepts.

Professional certifications such as FLMI, ACII, or IIK are an added advantage.
