Airtel Money, one of Africa’s leading digital payment platforms, is looking for a Group Head – Policy Affairs to join its senior leadership team in Nairobi. This strategic role is perfect for a highly experienced professional who can shape the future of digital financial services through policy development, advocacy, and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead the development of policy positions and advocacy strategies on financial inclusion, AML/CFT, taxation, data governance, and KYC.

Draft policy briefs, position papers, and white papers to support regulatory advocacy.

Represent Airtel Money in regulatory consultations, forums, and taskforces across Africa.

Build strong relationships with central banks, ministries, competition regulators, and development partners.

Monitor and analyze laws, regulations, and policy trends affecting digital financial services.

Provide intelligence reports, talking points, and board-level briefings on regulatory risks and opportunities.

Collaborate with internal teams (Legal, Compliance, Licensing, and Commercial) to translate regulatory shifts into practical solutions.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Law, Economics, International Relations, or related field.

Master’s degree (MPP, MBA, LLM, MSc in Regulatory Policy/Development Economics) preferred.

10+ years’ experience in policy, regulatory affairs, or government relations, with 5+ years in financial services, fintech, telecom, or digital payments.

Proven track record of influencing legislation and policy frameworks in financial services.

Strong connections with regulators, ministries, and policy institutions across Africa.
