Accounts Assistant at Orthomedics & Pharmaceuticals Limited– Eldoret

Orthomedics & Pharmaceuticals Limited is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate(s) will be employed on a one-year contract, renewable based on performance.

Responsibilities

  • Posting of trade creditors Invoices and debit notes.
  • Researching and resolving invoice discrepancies and issues.
  • Verifying the accuracy of invoices before processing payment of goods and services received by the company.
  • Reconciliation of creditors accounts and updating of all their invoices and payments
  • Reconciliation of bank statements and preparing monthly bank reconciliation reports.
  • Tracking expenses and processing expense reports.
  • Ensure daily and timely banking of cheques and cash.
  • Maintaining financial records and ensuring proper documentation.
  • Ensure that transactions comply with financial policies and procedures.
  • Assisting with month end closing of accounts.
  • Give necessary support during audits, internal and external.
  • Writing of daily, weekly, monthly and annual reports or as required to the Senior Accountant or as
    directed by management.
  • Participating in periodic stocktake exercises.
  • Perform any other duty that may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA (Part II) or ACCA Level II qualification is preferred.
  • At least 1-2 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and reconciliation.
  • Good knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.

Terms of Employment

The successful candidate(s) will be employed on a one year contract term renewable based on performance.
