Role Overview
As a Teller at SBM Bank, you will be responsible for handling all over-the-counter transactions while ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and customer delight. Beyond transactional duties, you will also have the opportunity to generate business leads through daily customer interactions.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Duties (35%)

Process cash, cheque, RTGS, TT, and electronic funds transfer transactions.

Issue Banker’s Cheques and set up standing instructions.

Conduct snap checks and ensure compliance with money laundering prevention procedures.

Manage vaults, safe deposit lockers, ATM and branch keys responsibly.

Perform internal account reconciliations and act as a risk champion at the branch.
Customer Service & Experience (45%)

Provide excellent customer service by assisting clients with account opening, closures, and digital banking setup.

Handle queries, resolve issues within turnaround time, and escalate when necessary.

Assist clients with cheque books, pre-paid cards, credit cards, debit cards, and fixed deposits.
Business Growth & Customer Relationship Management (10%)

Cross-sell bank products and follow up with clients to activate dormant accounts.

Support new client acquisition and strengthen customer relationships.
Human Resource & Team Collaboration (10%)

Work effectively as part of the branch team.

Attend trainings, submit self-appraisals, and adhere to leave schedules to maintain work-life balance.
Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in any discipline (minimum second-class honors upper division).

Minimum B- in KCSE or equivalent.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work under pressure, analytical, and self-driven.
