Role Overview
The Business Development Manager – Institutions will play a central role in identifying new business opportunities, expanding existing pension portfolios, and ensuring a high level of client satisfaction. Reporting to the institutional business leadership, the role holder will be responsible for market expansion, retention, and regulatory adherence.
Key Responsibilities
1. Institutional Business Growth

Prospect and onboard new institutional clients for segregated pension mandates.

Lead complete sales cycles—from prospecting, pitching proposals, to onboarding new schemes.

Develop annual growth plans aligned with Jubilee’s revenue targets.

Leverage market intelligence and competitor trends to refine business acquisition strategies.
2. Client Relationship Management

Serve as the primary liaison for pension schemes, trustees, and institutional decision-makers.

Conduct trustee meetings, investment briefings, and client review sessions.

Manage onboarding and compliance documentation in line with RBA requirements.

Drive retention, cross-selling, and upselling across Jubilee’s institutional product suite.
3. Product Innovation & Strategy

Identify market gaps and propose new institutional pension products.

Support rollout of product enhancements, client education, and market positioning.

Provide insights that enhance product competitiveness and pricing structures.
4. Strategic Planning & Performance
-
Track pipeline performance, sales metrics, and business growth indicators.

Conduct regulatory and industry trend analysis to refine business strategies.

Recommend operational improvements to boost efficiency and client experience.
5. Operational Coordination

Work with fund services, finance, and administrative teams to ensure accuracy in contributions, transfers, claims, and reporting.

Ensure timely submission of audited accounts, trustee reports, and other regulatory deliverables.
6. Compliance & Risk Management

Ensure adherence to RBA, CMA, KRA, AML, Data Protection, and internal compliance standards.

Support audits, regulatory inspections, due-diligence processes, and internal risk assessments.
7. Market Visibility & Thought Leadership

Represent Jubilee at industry events, conferences, trainings, and forums.

Contribute to research notes, market updates, and investment briefs.

Promote Jubilee as a trusted institutional asset manager.
8. Culture, People & Collaboration

Participate in cross-functional projects and capacity-building initiatives.

Maintain high standards of teamwork, innovation, conflict resolution, and overall cultural alignment.
Qualifications & Skills Required
-
Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business administration, or related field.

Master’s degree is an added advantage.
-
Professional certifications such as CFA or CISI are highly desirable.
-
7–8 years’ experience in asset management or insurance, with at least 2 years in leadership.

Strong understanding of segregated pension mandates and institutional markets.

Excellent communication, stakeholder management, negotiation, and analytical skills.

Proven ability to drive institutional sales and maintain long-term relationships.
