What the Role Entails

Reporting directly to the Director General, the successful candidate will be responsible for shaping the financial direction of the Authority. This includes advising top management on financial policies, overseeing fiscal planning, and ensuring efficient resource utilization across all departments.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Offering strategic financial advice to guide decision-making at management and board levels.

  • Developing and enforcing financial policies, regulations, and procedures that strengthen financial governance.

  • Implementing strong internal controls to protect the Authority’s assets and ensure transparency in all financial operations.

  • Coordinating the preparation of annual budgets, cash flow projections, and work plans.

  • Monitoring budget performance to ensure alignment with approved plans and optimal use of resources.

  • Supervising treasury functions, revenue processes, and preparation of accurate financial statements.

  • Driving financial risk management strategies to safeguard the Authority’s stability.

  • Ensuring full compliance with all statutory financial frameworks and reporting standards.

Who Can Apply?

To qualify for this senior leadership role, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • A Master’s degree in a relevant discipline.

  • At least 15 years of relevant experience, with a minimum of five years in a management or senior leadership role.

  • Professional certification such as CPA(K) or its equivalent.

  • Valid membership and practicing license from a recognized professional body.

  • Completion of a leadership development course lasting at least four weeks.

  • Proficiency in modern computer applications.

  • Strong leadership, analytical, communication, and project management skills.
