Role Overview
As a Territory Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of your assigned territory. You’ll be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies, managing distributor teams, and achieving sales and profitability targets.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales Strategy & Target Management

Determine distributor infrastructure needs and working capital requirements

Prepare distributor sales and KPI targets using Unilever’s Joint Business Plan toolkit
-
Monitor and manage stocks, debtors, and cash positions to ensure smooth operations

Set beat plans for sales teams to cover all product categories efficiently
2. Customer & Distributor Relationship Management

Build strong relationships at Key Distribution (KD) and Point of Purchase (POP) levels

Prospect, negotiate, and initiate local actions in line with company policies

Ensure the right product assortment is available at the right price and channel
3. Team Leadership & Capability Building

Recruit and train distributor teams with the right skills to deliver targets

Conduct field coaching and full-day sales accompaniment to develop team capability
-
Monitor team performance regularly through market floor meetings
4. Reporting & Analysis

Submit weekly and monthly reports covering sales, ROI, profitability, working capital, and safety

Use ROI toolkit to track KD profitability and recommend actions for improvement
Qualifications & Skills Required
-
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in sales, with at least 2 years in FMCG
-
Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Economics, or related field

Strong Excel and analytical skills

Key skills: customer management, team leadership, retail understanding, point-of-purchase monitoring, channel investment strategy, and organizational capacity
