UNICEF’s Eastern and Southern Africa Regional Office (ESARO) is offering an exciting 12-month consultancy for a professional to support coordination, knowledge management, and research related to its partnerships with key foundations. The consultant will play a vital role in strengthening collaboration between UNICEF and foundation partners across the region.
Key Objectives
Under the supervision of the Partnerships Specialist and the guidance of the Senior Advisor, Partnerships, the consultant will focus on enhancing the management and growth of UNICEF’s regional and country-level private sector partnerships.
Key areas of focus include:

Strengthening existing partnerships: Support and grow collaborations with key foundation partners such as the Mastercard Foundation and LDS Charities, ensuring continued engagement and effective implementation.

Developing new partnerships: Identify and pursue opportunities aligned with foundations’ localization and impact strategies in Africa.

Capacity building and coordination: Enhance collaboration across regional offices, improve information flow, and ensure teams are aligned with partnership goals.

Knowledge management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date data on partnerships, enabling easy access to insights and reports for leadership and technical teams.

Thought leadership: Support UNICEF’s engagement in continental and regional forums, promoting data-driven insights and partnership learnings.
Qualifications and Experience

A Master’s degree in Development Studies, International Relations, Business, or a related field.

At least five years of professional experience in partnership management, grant oversight, proposal development, or private donor relations.

Strong analytical, organizational, and coordination skills.

Experience working in an international development or NGO environment is an asset.
