Christian Aid Seeks a Skilled Contracts and Portfolio Manager to Strengthen Global Impact

Christian Aid, a globally recognized organization committed to eradicating poverty and promoting social justice, is inviting applications for the position of Contracts and Portfolio Manager in Nairobi, Kenya.

This role is ideal for a professional who combines strategic oversight with a deep understanding of donor-funded project management. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the effective delivery, compliance, and reporting of Christian Aid’s restricted funding portfolio across the East & Southern Africa Multi-Country Cluster (MCC).

Driving Strategic Excellence and Compliance

Reporting to the Partnership & Strategy Lead, the Contracts and Portfolio Manager will oversee multi-million-pound donor-funded programmes across several countries. The individual will ensure that each initiative aligns with Christian Aid’s values — justice, integrity, and partnership — while upholding the highest standards of accountability and impact delivery.

This includes managing compliance with institutional donors such as governments, foundations, and private organizations, ensuring that all contracts meet financial and reporting requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and monitor restricted programme delivery within the MCC.

  • Provide oversight for donor contracts and ensure strong compliance frameworks.

  • Maintain relationships with external donors as Christian Aid’s primary representative.

  • Support financial planning, audits, and donor risk management.

  • Collaborate with internal teams such as MEAL, Finance, and Advocacy for integrated programme delivery.

The Ideal Candidate

Applicants should hold a degree in business, economics, international development, or a related field and have significant experience managing complex donor portfolios. Strong financial acumen, audit experience, and familiarity with donor compliance processes are essential.

Those with experience in humanitarian or emergency contexts will be particularly well-suited for this position.
