Peace Corps Kenya is seeking passionate individuals to serve as Educators for the Deaf (E4D). This role is a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of Deaf students by improving access to quality education and fostering inclusivity in schools and communities.
As an E4D Volunteer, you’ll work alongside local teachers, parents, and communities to support Deaf learners and strengthen teaching practices.
Your Role Will Include:

Supporting Deaf students with Kenyan Sign Language (KSL), literacy, and numeracy skills.

Building teacher capacity through Communities of Practice.

Helping families and caregivers become more involved in Deaf education.

Adapting and developing learning materials for Deaf students.

Promoting health, safety, and self-protection skills for Deaf youth.
What You’ll Need:

A degree in Special Education (focused on hearing or visual disabilities), Education, or related fields.

OR a bachelor’s degree in any field with special education certification.

OR at least 1 year of full-time experience working with individuals with disabilities.
