New Opportunity: Programs Officer – Jumuisha at APDK

The Association for the Physically Disabled of Kenya (APDK) is inviting applications for the Programs Officer – Jumuisha role. This full-time opportunity is based in Nairobi and offers a chance to contribute meaningfully to youth inclusion and empowerment in Kenya’s labor market.

The Jumuisha Project, a collaboration between APDK and the National Council of Persons with Disabilities (NCPWD), and funded by CBM, focuses on enhancing employment opportunities for young people with disabilities in Isiolo and Kakamega.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting project planning, coordination, and mobilization.

  • Facilitating capacity building and sensitization workshops for organizations.

  • Engaging with stakeholders to promote disability inclusion in the workplace.

  • Monitoring and reporting on project outcomes while documenting lessons learned.

  • Supporting youth with disabilities to secure internships and jobs in renewable energy and e-mobility sectors.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Project Management, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Disability Studies, or related fields.

  • At least 3 years of experience in NGO project coordination.

  • Practical knowledge of disability inclusion, youth skilling, and job placement.

  • Strong stakeholder engagement and M&E skills.
