Mastercard Foundation is seeking an experienced Lead, Finance Operations to join their Nairobi office. This is a senior-level role designed for a finance professional with the expertise and leadership skills to oversee strategic financial operations and drive impactful initiatives.
As Lead, Finance Operations, you will play a critical role in supporting the Executive Director, Program Finance, helping to align high-impact initiatives with the Foundation’s strategic priorities. From managing cross-functional communications and supporting governance to ensuring strong financial systems and risk management, this position is about more than just numbers — it’s about enabling transformation and impact.
Your responsibilities will include:

Developing and implementing finance systems and processes.

Driving risk management, compliance, and internal controls.

Leading strategic financial analyses to support decision-making.

Guiding performance monitoring, reporting, and financial forecasting.

Building capability and promoting continuous improvement across the finance function.
The ideal candidate will have:

A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (MBA preferred).

Professional accounting designation (CPA, ACCA, or similar).

At least 15 years of financial leadership experience, with 5+ years in a senior role.

A proven record of leading transformation initiatives within large or global organizations.

Strong communication, cultural sensitivity, and stakeholder management skills.
