The Public Benefit Organizations Regulatory Authority (PBORA) is a State corporation established
under Section 34 of the Public Benefit Organizations (PBO) Act, 2013. The Authority is charged with
the responsibility of registration and regulation of the PBO sector in Kenya as outlined under Section

ICT Officer – 2 Positions

An officer at this level shall work under the supervision of a senior officer.
Duties and responsibilities will entail: –
- Writing and testing simple computer programs according to instructions and specifications;
- Verifying, enhancing and testing simple computer programs according to instructions and specifications;
- Installing and configuring computer systems; networks (LAN, WAN), and software;
- Providing user support; troubleshooting hardware and software problems, and training staff on ICT systems.
- Repairing and maintaining ICT equipment and associated peripherals;
- Maintaining an up-to-date ICT equipment register and issuance register;
- Providing end user support and training users on effective and efficient use of ICT facilities; and
- Assist in updating and maintaining the Authority’s website.
- Ensuring data security, implementing security protocols, and adhering to relevant ICT policies and regulations.
- Managing ICT projects, including upgrades, installations, and new system implementations.
- Performing routine maintenance on ICT equipment, keeping hardware and software registers, and maintaining network documentation.
- Staying up-to-date with new technologies and recommending improvements to the ICT infrastructure.
- Any other duties as assigned from time to time.
Person Specifications
For appointment to this grade an officer must have:
- Bachelor’s degree in any of the following fields: Information Technology, Computer Science, Business IT, Software Engineering, ICT Project Management, Computer Engineering or other relevant and equivalent qualifications from a recognized Institution.
- KCSE C+ or its equivalent;
- Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution
Registration Officer – 4 Positions

Job Specification
An officer at this level will work under the guidance and supervision of Senior Registration Officer.
Duties and responsibilities
Specific duties and responsibilities will entail: –
- Advising PBOs on registration services;
- Receiving recording and scrutinizing all PBOs Annual Returns;
- Developing a list of all PBOs due dates for submission of annual returns;
- Preparing weekly summaries on registration services comprehensive data base of PBOs and their Annual Returns status;
- Preparing monthly reports on registration and post-registration services;
- Compiling applications on registration of PBOs;
- Conducting record searches with relevant government departments;
- Receiving and scrutinizing requests for post registration services such as request for work permits, change of officials, recommendation letters and all other post registration services
- Any other duties as assigned from time to time
Person Specifications
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:
- Must have served as a Senior Assistant Registration officer for at least three (3) years;
- Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following fields: Development Studies, Project Management, Social Sciences, Commerce, Business Administration or Business Management (Strategic Management option) or other relevant and equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution.
- Minimum KCSE C+ (plus) or its equivalent;
- Membership and in good standing of a relevant professional body/Institution;
- Proficiency in computer applications;
- Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution
Office Administrator

Job Specifications
An officer at this level will work under direct supervision of a senior officer.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Attending to visitors/clients;
- Handling telephone calls and enquiries;
- Handling customer inquiries and complaints;
- Ensuring security of office records, equipment and documents;
- Ensuring confidentiality of office information;
- Record keeping for correspondences and file movement;
- Managing office protocol and etiquette;
- Managing petty cash for the respective office;
- Maintaining an up to date file movement register;
- Coordinating the general administration of the respective department/office;
- Coordinating schedule of meetings and appointments for the respective departments/office;
- Coordinating travel arrangements for the respective departments/office;
- Coordinating appointments and travel itineraries for the ED/Deputy Director/ Manager;
- preparing responses to simple routine correspondence for the ED/Deputy Director/Manger; and
- Monitoring procedures for record keeping for correspondences.
- Ensuring security, integrity and confidentiality of data; and
- Undertaking any other office administrative services duties that may be assigned.

Person Specifications
For appointment to this grade a candidate must have: –
- Bachelor’s degree in Secretarial Studies or any other equivalent from a recognized institution;
- Minimum KCSE C+ (plus) or its equivalent;
- Have passed the following examinations from the Kenya National Examinations Agency (KNEC);
- Typewriting III (Minimum 50 w.p.m.)/Computerized document processing III;
- Shorthand III (120 w.p.m);
- Business English III/Communications I;
- Office Management III/Office Administration and Management III;
- Secretarial Duties II;
- Commerce II;
- Proficiency in computer applications;
- Demonstrated results in work performance;
- Meet the provision of Chapter Six of Constitution.
Driver – 2 Positions

Duties and Responsibilities: –
- Driving the Authority vehicle as authorized;
- Maintaining cleanliness of the vehicle;
- Carrying out minor mechanical adjustments;
- Recognizing and reporting mechanical defaults of the vehicles;
- ensuring security and safety of the vehicle on and off the road;
- Monitoring and reporting expiry of insurance policies for motor vehicles;
- Overseeing transport management;
- Preparing and submitting reports on transport when need arises; and
- Ensuring safety of passengers and/or goods therein.
- Any other duties as assigned from time to time
Person Specifications
For appointment to this grade a candidate must have: –
- At least served as a Driver for at least four (4) years;
- Minimum KCSE C- (minus) or its equivalent;
- The Occupational Trade Test II Certificate OR its equivalent
- A valid driving license free from any current endorsements(s) for classes of the vehicles the driver is required to drive;
- A defensive Driving Certificate from the Automobile Association of Kenya (AA) or its equivalent qualification from any other recognized institution;
- A valid Certificate of Good Conduct;
- A First Aid Certificate course lasting not less than one (1) week from St. Johns Ambulance or any other recognized institution;
- An accident-free driving period of 5 years.
- Fulfill the requirements of Chapter 6 of the constitution.
